the heat in a sauna is more than just hot air - it seems to flow through you to the bone, unknotting and relaxing muscles. but the steamy air is pretty damn hot too, especially if you're gagged and having to breathe through your nose. get free in twenty minutes or get thrown in the snow to cool down, they'd said, which sounded easy until you felt the heat sap your muscles and ability to think, and the sweat coursing down your body made it impossible for fingers to get a grip on tightening ropes.
all she had to do was jerk her arms upwards with enough force to flip the rope free of the hook and it would be easy to hop or crawl to the door, but she knew that the same movement would definitely have abrupt consequences for her towel. Even small wriggles caused the loose roll of fluffy towel to slacken a little more, and if she didn't move soon it would come loose of its own accord. nineteen minutes gone and time to make a decision which was worse...


one of the pics you suggested i do a remaster of was sauna (2007!), but i decided that it would be better to draw a completely new version of the picture to mark 10 years since the original. that one is working its way towards 500 favourites - it would be lovely if this one beat it ^ ^
